The Northcliffe
Telecentre has been in operation since 1994. We are an
incorporated not-for-profit organisation dedicated to:
- encouragement
of local employment
- provision
of competitive local access to technology and
services
- providing
training and educational opportunties
- offering
community development resources
A current emphasis
at the Telecentre is encouragement of small businesses, sole
traders and creative individuals and groups by offering truly
professional services at competitive prices. Access to
such services is key in inventing and growing new and existing
businesses. Northcliffe is a creative community and wants
to grow!
In July 2006
our Telecentre finally found a permanent home in purpose built
premises in the central crossroads in Northcliffe. We thank
the Northcliffe Timber Cluster for our previous accomodation
- the fantastic accomodation at 26 Mill Road Number 2 - and acknowledge
the South West Development Commission for their generous rent
subsidy on that premises.

At
the time of moving to our new accomodation we managed to update
most of our equipment and the Telecentre now has 8 Shuttle computers
(thanks to Lotterywest), set up in comfortable ergonomic workstations
in our main training/ computer room (a number of sponsors help
us set up and fit out the new centre).
We also have
a meeting room, a room dedicated to Centrelink where our clients
can have privacy, and a long room in which we keep our wide format
printing service.
Northcliffe
Telecentre is a Centrelink access point with free fax
and phone to contact Centrelink.
We
provide a full range of the usual Telecentre services including
public access internet, printing, faxing and IT training and
support services.
Business
Planning
Top of the
agenda for Northcliffe Telecentre at the moment is to make a
business plan for the coming financial year. Actions we
are planning for the coming year include delivering a huge training
program of 52 different classes in 52 weeks. We are also
planning a big emphasis on promotion, distribution and training
in open source software. A seperate stream is the development
of a Linux options program.
