Training coming soon!
We are developing a new training program to commence in the 2008/09 year in which
we plan to deliver 52 courses in 52 weeks. This major new initiative should
have something for everyone!

Actions
for 2008/09
Other than our fantastic 52/52 training program other new actions which we are
including in our Business Plan for the coming year are:
- development of a glossy
colour marketing brochure (which we will print ourselves on
our new Colour Laser printer)
- replacement of our server/network
setup (we have in-house expertise to do this)
- development of multimedia
and youth activities (one proposal has a working title of ‘Ezone’). The
Telecentre is hoping to collaborate with Film Club to show
a film or two, to run LAN gaming sessions and much more…
- conducting a community needs
analysis type project. As part of this action we are
collaborating with the Family Centre on the ‘Celebrating
Lifelong Learning Project’ for Adult Learners Week
|
- providing access to and training in open source programs and
the Linux operating system (Open source software can be installed
and used FREE on your home computer).
- support the development of a digital media club (there is currently
a small group including both our Telecentre staff who plan to
make an animated film in Northcliffe)
- campaign for an increase in the Telecentre operating grant
(it has not increased once in twenty seven years of inflation)
- measures to improve the management and administration of the
Telecentre
- increase profitability to be able to increase staff hours/employment
and thereby deliver on more of our services and plans
|
The
finished business plan should be available to members by the time
of the next AGM.
Thanks for your support – we hope you choose to stay with
us! |
